Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Letterjudge and the API it provides. By creating an account or making API calls you agree to be bound by them. If you are using Letterjudge on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.

1. The Service

Letterjudge is an email address validation API. It checks format, DNS configuration, deliverability, catch-all behaviour, and spam risk, returning a scored result for each address queried. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the service at any time with reasonable notice.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your account has been compromised. We are not liable for losses caused by unauthorised use of your credentials.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use the API only for lawful purposes. The following are prohibited:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we determine, in our sole discretion, are in violation of these rules.

4. Plans and Billing

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Your plan renews automatically unless you cancel before the next billing date. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will not be charged again and your account downgrades to the free tier. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods. If a payment fails your account will be marked past due and access may be restricted until payment is resolved.

We may change plan pricing with at least 30 days' notice. The new price takes effect at your next renewal after that notice period.

5. Availability and Accuracy

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee any specific uptime. Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where possible. Validation results are best-effort: factors like greylisting, temporary SMTP failures, and catch-all configurations can affect accuracy. Do not rely on Letterjudge as the sole gate for critical decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

All code, trademarks, documentation, and other materials that make up the Letterjudge service are our property. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the API as permitted by these Terms. You retain ownership of any data you submit.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Letterjudge and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from your use of the service will not exceed the fees you paid in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate your account with notice if you breach these Terms, or immediately if we determine continued access poses a risk to the service or other users. Upon termination your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to These Terms

We will notify registered users by email of any material changes before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction where Letterjudge is operated.
